ACM opened Living Water Primary School in 2007 and Abundant Life Primary School in 2008 with one class of level 1 students. A level was added each year at each school until Living Water had their first graduating class of level 8 students in 2014 followed by Abundant Life in 2015. Living Water now enrolls over 300 and Abundant Life Primary School has over 400 students in levels 1-8. Each school site has its own water well with water from these wells made available to the community surrounding these sites. Both school sites are enclosed with fences for protection from animals. Classes are held in the open, under trees, in open sided thatch roof huts or in newly completed classroom buildings at Living Water and Abundant Life Primary Schools. In order to accommodate all the students at both schools, one additional building is needed at Living Water and another one at Abundant Life.
All students are required to wear a uniform. Every school day students receive a nutritious meal and hear Bible stories as a part of their primary education. A grant provided by Baptist Global Relief and assistance from The World Food Program helps with the cost of the lunches. All students receive vaccinations according to World Health Organization’s guidelines. Several young adults have received or are receiving scholarships for secondary or college level classes.
