Children are children everywhere. They are playful, curious and soak up whatever they are taught like little sponges. If we want to see the world become a kinder better place, let’s teach them well. Its the mission of Living Water Community Transformation to make disciples who will make disciples. Though we focus on all age groups, we use a lot of our resources for training the young.
Living Water Primary School in Belameling Camp in Palorinya District opened in January with 200 preschool children and 200 primary students, grade levels one through three. This is the first school experience for the majority of these pupils. We are in the process of constructing another building for grade levels four through seven, scheduled to open in January 2023.
First and foremost, Living Water Primary is dedicated to training up disciples of Christ. The curriculum being used in our primary school is called “Rafiki” (means “friend in Swahili). The teachers have been trained in this Biblically based method. The teachers are refugees from the same local community.
God, through His people, has provided the buildings, teachers, food, uniforms, backpacks, and curriculum. Shoes for the pupils are on their way. And a new borehole will soon be drilled to provide clean drinking water on the compound. I am humbled and amazed at His provision.
Speaking of water, in Matthew 10:42 Jesus says, “If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” I have a question for you friend. Who is the “disciple”? The giver, or the “little one”. A parallel verse, Mark 9:41 makes it clear that the receiver is the “disciple”. These “little ones” are the disciples who are receiving the “cup of cold water” you are providing. Partners, there is a reward that you will not lose. I hope that blesses you today.
So thankful for your partnership in this mission!
