“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:14
On December 16th Living Water Primary School in Akot, South Sudan celebrated the first graduation ceremony for 25 level 8 students. Since only 1.9% of children in South Sudan complete primary school, this was a great reason for celebrating. People came from other villages to witness and participate in 6 hours of preaching, worshipping and feasting. Rose, the Women’s Ministry Director said, “Mama, the graduation was like a miracle for us. I went to the market to try to find more food, but there was no one anywhere in the market. Everyone in Akot was at the graduation. When we told the crowd that ran out of food, the people said, ‘no problem we are already filled with joy’.”
If you look closely you can see that the graduates each received a pair of shoes for a graduation gift. They are very proud of their accomplishment, as are their families and the whole community (see the spectators in the trees).
Please pray for these young disciples to make a difference in their world. Pray that the people of South Sudan will have peace and find favor with God, as the Scripture states.
Through your prayers and financial support you have made a significant difference. From the people in Akot, Yin ca leec (means thank you in Dinka). To God be the glory!
Merry Christmas,
Ann Rao, President
