Were You There?

There they crucified him (Jesus), along with the criminals–one on his right, the other on his left. One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us.” But the other criminal rebuked him and said to Jesus: “Rmember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus answer him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.” Luke 23:33, 39-43

One man died in his sin. He sneered at Christ, but his greatest sin was unbelief. “If you do not believe that I am the one I claim to be, you will indeed die in your sins.” John 8:24.

One man died for sin. He died with sin upon Him. The sins upon Jesus were the sins of the world. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish , but have eternal life.” John 3:16. By this cross, Jesus won heaven for all who believe.

One Man died to sin. This sinner believed and as a result, his sins were taken away. He had no time for going to church or doing good deeds–only faith in Jesus Christ. His home in heaven will be shared with all who have faith in Jesus Christ. We all must decide what we will do about this Jesus, reject or accept His sacrifice. If you are ready to accept, please pray this simple prayer now. “Jesus, I know that you died for my sins. Forgive me for my sins. Take me to heaven when I die. Help me to live for you the rest of my life.”

Amen
