After Lent: A Call That Continues

Post-Lent Mission Call

After a beautiful season of prayer and fasting through Lent, many of us find ourselves asking, “What now?” We have drawn near to God, quieted our hearts, and remembered the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. But as the celebration of the resurrection settles, we are not left without direction.

In one of the most tender post-resurrection moments, Jesus asks Simon Peter three times, “Do you love me?” And each time, He responds with a simple yet profound command: “Feed my sheep.” This was not just a restoration of Peter—it was a commissioning. A calling to care, to serve, and to nourish others.

Could this same direction apply to us? I believe it does.

The wisdom of Ecclesiastes reminds us that there is a season for everything. Lent is a season of preparation, reflection, and renewal. But the season that follows is one of action. It is a time to live out what God has stirred within us.

And nowhere is this more evident than in the refugee camps.

Right now, the needs are as great as ever—perhaps even greater. Families continue to arrive, children fill the classrooms, and hearts are hungry not only for food, but for hope. The work is busy—overflowing, even—but it is also deeply meaningful. This is our moment to “feed His sheep” in very real and tangible ways.

We feed them through education, through compassion, through presence. We feed them with the truth of the Gospel, with encouragement, and with love that reflects Christ Himself.

Lent may be over, but our calling is not.

This is the season to step forward—strengthened by prayer, renewed in spirit, and ready to serve.
