Thank God for School Food

Meet Elizabeth, one of our precious little sisters in Christ, enrolled at Living Water Primary in Belameling Refugee Camp.  Both of Elizabeth’s parents are alive, however they abandoned her years ago. She does not know the whereabouts of her parents now. Her aunt allows her and her brother to stay in her home. However, the aunt has no source of income and the United Nations discontinued the family’s food rations a year ago.  Elizabeth is surviving almost entirely on the school meals.  On the weekends and school breaks, she attempts to beg for food from neighbors. Unfortunately, this is usually unsuccessful.

Elizabeth’s  brother and aunt are attempting to cultivate some food in the small space beside their hut. This effort has not yield much food for the family. Sadly, Elizabeth’s situation is not an unusual story among the refugee population. Living Water CT is grateful for the support provided by Send Relief for the life sustaining food for Elizabeth, 499 other young souls, and the school staff.
