Scovia is a primary four student at Living Water Primary School in Belameling Refugee Camp in Uganda. She lost both her parents while she was still an infant. Her father was killed by rebel soldiers in South Sudan. Her mother committed suicide shortly after the death of her father. Scovia lives with her aunt, who also has four biological children. After The World Food Program ceased providing food rations to refugees in Northern Uganda, Scovia often is not given any food at her home. She says, “I do not mind when my aunt does not allow me to eat at home, because the food that I receive at school satisfies my hunger. It helps me concentrate on learning, and I never need to worry about not getting enough food.”
We praise God for generous partners who help us provide a nutritious daily meal to 450 preschool and primary school age refugee children through Send Relief and LWCT. Jesus said this is how we should minister unto Him.
‘ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?…And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it unto Me.’ Matthew 25:37-40
